Joseph's by the Sea
Joseph & Mariette Dussault moved to Old Orchard Beach in 1968 to pursue a new endeavor – starting a new restaurant on the coast of Maine.
Joseph's became one of the best restaurants in Old Orchard Beach.
When Joseph and Mariette retired many years later, the restaurant was passed down to their children - Paul, Lou, & Helen. The next generation maintained the integrity of this family owned, fine dining restaurant overlooking the sea.
Along the way, they also grew the seaside dining experience of Joseph’s by expanding the menu with local seafood cuisine.
In 2018, as part of their 50th anniversary celebration, they enlarged the dining area and added the rooftop deck for outdoor dining. The rooftop deck has proven to be very popular to during the warmer months.
After 53 years in business, it was time for this family business to change ownership and the Dussault family to retire.
New Ownership for Joseph’s by the Sea.
Joseph's was sold to a local family who loves the dining experience at Joseph’s by the Sea. Scott & Barbara McCrum, originally from Aroostook County, relocated to Saco 20 years ago and have been actively involved with the community through the years. They have owned several other businesses and are excited about the long-term future of Joseph’s.
The McCrums are adding a fresh look to the inside and making some exciting changes to the outdoor spaces. With increased interest in outdoor dining, they are also creating a seaside patio that overlooks the expansive beach and sea. This will elevate the seaside dining experience and make eating at Joseph’s by the Sea a true delight.
Locally Sourced Seafood
Joseph’s is pleased to serve fresh seafood caught off the Maine coast by local lobstermen and fishermen. As much as possible, vegetables and other ingredients are also sourced in Maine. We strive to give our customer the best seaside dining experience along the coast of southern Maine.
